Installing Your New Grille
Before you start, there are a few important things you need to know about installing my wood grilles.
- I manufacture our wood grilles only from the best architectural grade wood veneer. As such, this is a natural product and therefore are subject to natural variations! These natural imperfections in the surface patterns, color and texture in the wood are considered a desirable feature -- a thing of beauty -- and are not considered a defect.
- I have designed my grilles to be function works of art. It is very important that you NEVER install a grille in the Floor. My grilles are for In-The-Wall installation only and are not weight-bearing. My grilles have openings that could let small object fall through the grille. Or worse, a heavy weight - like a furniture leg - can break out sections of the grille.
- I provide my grilles unfinished, so they can be finished as desired to fit your decor. When applying a finish to your grille, make sure you apply the same finish to the back of the grille as you do the front of the grille. Wood is a natural product and needs to be balanced finish to assure against warpage. Warping is most likely to occur when the front surface is finished or treated differently from the back surface. So, if you spray paint the grille's front side, also spray paint the grille's back side!
Replacing your old grille with a beautiful Chambers Artisan Metal & Wood grille is quite simple.
Please think twice before installing our grilles on a basketball court,
or any room that is frequented by toy-slinging children, wild horses or
an occasional orangutan. They can break!
